Verde collection

Structured around organic forms, this collection resonates with beauty from the natural world.  Carved onyx, with its richly veined greens and browns unique to each piece, forms the core of this collection.  Handcrafted designs in woven grasses, shesham and olive wood bring the colors of garden and meadow inside. Copper and green glass feature in unique vessels, while basketry in shades of tarragon, walnut and honey becomes a statement of its own.

Onyx

Pakistan

Item #s:7400910, 7401080,7400810,7435780

These products are hand carved from onyx stone in Pakistan by the Dominion Traders artisan group. Onyx is a semiprecious translucent stone ranging in color from white to deep green. Cool water is usually poured over onyx during cutting and lathing to prevent cracking and to minimize dust. Because of its fragility, handle onyx with care.

Plant and Garden

Vietnam

Item #s: 5400800, 5405830, 5407060, 5407030

For centuries, Vietnamese artisans have been known for their exquisite ceramics. To create the planters, artisans first put the clay into a round mold and spread the clay around the walls of the mold. Next, they place the mold on the rolling table and, with a special piece of machinery, roll the mold in order to make the pot round. Artisans take the mold outside and allow the clay inside to dry for about two hours. After two hours, they take the pot out of the mold and allow it to dry completely. After applying the glaze by hand, the artisans place the pot under the sun to allow the glaze to dry and then place the planter in a wood-fired kiln. Artisans heat the kiln to over 800 degrees Celsius for one day. Then they extinguish the fire and allow the kiln to cool before removing the planters.
